Family Support
The Student Resource Center is an on-site facility at West High School. We believe that it takes a community to educate and care for our students. Therefore, we are here to provide, and coordinate services aimed at helping students and families thrive. Here at West, we understand that it is hard for students to focus on school when their family is dealing with life’s challenges. So, whether you need some extra food from our pantry, a warm coat, help navigating the community, or just someone to talk to. Feel free to stop by and give us a visit.
Hours are 8:00am-10:00am and then 1:15pm to 3:30pm, Monday-Friday when the school is open.
On-site Services:
- Clothes Closet
- Food Pantry
- School Supplies
- Direct families to community resources & services
Donations
Here are a few items the Student Resource Center can always use:
- Nonperishable food items: peanut butter, jam, rice, pasta, beans, soups, cold cereals, vegetables, fruit, etc.
- Backpacks and school supplies: pens, pencils, spiral notebooks, composition books, etc.
- New coats, hoodies, socks, gloves in teen sizes only please
- Cash/check/credit card donations are always helpful to purchase items for the pantry/clothing closet, or items families need that the pantry does not carry.
Food Pantry
The West High Student Resource Center is lucky enough to partner with the Utah Food Bank to provide West High with a food pantry service. Our goal is that no one in our West High family go hungry. We will be distributing food bags, hygiene and cleaning supplies to families every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10-11:30 AM outside the cafeteria.
