West High Students Shine at International HOSA Leadership Conference

HOSA students show off their certificates

West High School students made a strong impression at the International HOSA Leadership Conference held in Houston, Texas, at the start of the summer. Fifty-six students from West High represented Utah, having earned their spots by qualifying at the HOSA State Conference in March.

Competing against 10,000 participants, several West High students achieved top placements and were recognized on stage:

•  West High ELP - Dynamic Decisions: 6th place

      •   Aditya Jonnalagedda, Aryan Sabharwal, Andrew Liu

•  West High ELP - Health Education: 8th place

      •   Melinda Zhou, Ethan Tao, Justin Tao, Shreyan Sarangi, Atharv Khemka, Hemanya Batlanki

•  West High - Emotional Wellbeing: Recognition 

     •   Angela Zhou, Kristen Layton

“It is truly an honor to work with these students and they are absolutely inspiring,” a HOSA Advisor Garth McFarland said. “I wish I could list all of them but please congratulate them when you see them.” West High’s students continue to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, making their school and community proud.
