Commercial Art Student Wins Second Place at University of Utah Materials Contest!

Aadhi Umamageswaran, a Junior at West High won second place in the High School Materials Competition in the category of "Material for Surface Roughness" on September 25, 2024. Her submission was a ring crafted during her Commercial Art class. The awards recognized the best materials with the smoothest surface. The University of Utah’s Department of Materials Science & Engineering evaluated the surface at the nanometer scale using a Scanning Electron Microscope.
