Seeking Candidates for SCC
West High School is accepting declarations of candidacy from parents and guardians interested in serving on the West High School Community Council (SCC).
The School Community Council provides parents, guardians, school employees, and administrators an opportunity to participate in decisions that support student achievement and school improvement.
Open Positions
There are seven parent/guardian member positions available. Members serve a two-year term.
Who Can Run?
A parent or guardian is eligible to run for election if they have a student who will attend West High School during at least one year of the two-year term.
How to Declare Candidacy
Interested parents and guardians should complete the West High School SCC Candidate Form and submit it to Principal Wayne Culley.
Forms may be emailed to wayne.culley@slcschools.org or delivered to the West High School main office.
Candidate filing deadline: Friday, September 4, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Election Information
If more than seven candidates file for the available positions, an election will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026.
Information about how and where to vote will be posted and communicated during the week of September 7.
First SCC Meeting
The first School Community Council meeting of the school year will be held:
