Registration Opens July 15 for the 2026–27 School Year

Online registration for the 2026–27 school year opens on July 15, 2026. Every student must register each year. Registration information is available on the district website, and families should also check their email for a message from West High School.

Students New to the District

Students who did not attend a Salt Lake City School District school last year should register online and select New Student to begin. A separate registration must be completed for each child.

Please have the following documents available:

• Proof of residence, such as a Utah driver's license, rent or mortgage statement, or utility bill
• A certified copy of the student's birth certificate or other proof of identity and age
• A certified immunization record or official exemption

Returning Students

Returning families must have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account to register. Families who have forgotten their login information or are unsure whether they have an account can find instructions on the district's Parent Portal page.

New This Year: ClassChoice

Beginning this year, West High students can manage their own class schedules using ClassChoice. Students will not need to wait in line to meet with a counselor to make routine schedule selections.

ClassChoice access will open in stages:

• July 15: Seniors
• July 20: Juniors
• July 22: Sophomores
• July 24: All grades

ClassChoice will remain open through August 9, 2026. Students and families can watch the how-to video in English or Spanish, or visit the ClassChoice webpage for additional information.

To view the video in another language, select the Settings gear icon beneath the video and choose a preferred language for the audio or closed captions.

Dates to Remember

• August 5 and 6, 1:00–7:00 p.m.: In-Person Registration Support and New Student Enrollment
  • Visit West High School for technology support, language support, or assistance enrolling a student who is new to West High or the district.
• August 14, 9:00–11:00 a.m.: Freshman Orientation
  • Bus transportation will be provided. Bus route information will be sent through ParentSquare.
• August 14, 1:00–3:00 p.m.: Extended Learning Program Orientation
• August 14, 3:00–4:00 p.m.: Extended Learning Program Parent Orientation
• August 17, 9:00–11:00 a.m.: Second Extended Learning Program Orientation
• August 18: First Day of School
• August 27, 4:00–8:00 p.m.: Family Information Night, also known as Back-to-School Night
