Welcome to another exciting school year 2022-23!

My name is Nanci, and I am the new Scholarship Advisor at West! I will be in my office Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00a-2:30p. Please email me at Nanci.urcinogonzalez@slcschools.org if you have any questions.

College Visits

Through fall, I coordinate in person and virtual visits from Admissions Officers of out-of-state colleges. While these are mostly attended by Seniors, all grades (and even parents) are welcome. This is an ever-changing list, please look out for the most updated list on the Instagram regularly.

BRYAN CAMERON EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: Senior planning to attend a four-year college/university, U.S. Citizen, 3.7 GPA, must excel in a broad variety of extracurricular activities. Active participation in community service, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript required. Merit based scholarship.

Amount: 4 year full tuition

Deadline: Sept 9, 2022. We limit the number of Applications we will accept to 3,000. If and when we reach this limit, we will shut down the Application, regardless of deadlines.

EQUITABLE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP (formerly AXA Achievement Scholarship)

Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate ambition and self-drive by outstanding achievement in an activity in school, community or workplace.

Amount:$2500 - $25000(plus $1,000 for teacher)

Deadline: Opens September 1st 2022. Deadline December 16, 2022, but only the first 10,000 applications will be accepted. Apply as early as possible!

GATES SCHOLARSHIP

Seniors. African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American, Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American. 3.3 or higher GPA. Federal Pell Grant eligible.

Amount: Full four-year scholarships worth up to $200,000.00

Criteria:13 years or older. Legal residents of United States. Essay required -

"If you could say one thing to the entire world at once, what would it be and why?" (250 words or less).

Criteria: Exceptional pre-collegiate musicians 8-18 years. Academic achievement. Financial need.

THE GOLDEN DOOR SCHOLARS

Criteria: Applicants must have DACA, TPS or certify that you meet immigration eligibility criteria(listed on website).

Amount: Up to $40,000

BROWN AND CALDWELL NAVAJO NATION SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: Enrolled members of the Navajo Nation. Senior in high school with a letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended. 3.0 GPA. US citizen or permanent resident. Intend to declare a major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).

500 word essay - “My role in creating a sustainable world.” Two letters of recommendation.

Amount: $1,000 for up to 4 years of schooling (for a total of $4,000). A laptop computer or tablet.

Deadline: The Navajo Nation Scholarship will open for applicants in September 2022.
