DAR Good Citizens Scholarship
Criteria: One outstanding Senior who demonstrates qualities of good citizenship – leadership, service, dependability and patriotism – will be awarded the DAR Good Citizen for West High School and will have a chance to participate in the scholarship process.

Sterling Scholars (Many West High Students have become Region winners)
Sterling Scholar Awards publicly recognize the pursuit of excellence in scholarship, leadership and citizenship of high school students graduating in the State of Utah.
Seniors can apply to be Sterling Scholar in one of the following categories - English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, World Languages, Computer Technology, Skilled And Technical Sciences Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Business And Marketing, Speech/Theatre Arts/Forensics, Vocal Performance, Visual Arts, Instrumental Music and Dance. You can apply to more than one category but can only accept one.

Criteria: High school seniors. Weighted GPA of 3.0 or better. Proven leaders and role models within school and community. Must preform in at least on the of the school sponsored sports.

VFW’S Patriot’s Pen Youth Essay Contest
Criteria: 6-8 grade. The essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay. The 2022-23 theme is: “My pledge to our Veterans.”

NSHSS Diversity Scholarship 2022
Eligibility: Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school who have demonstrated a commitment to expanding the diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in their school, community, or workplace.
Application Requirements: 500–800-word response to: How have you raised awareness for or helped to expand the diversity and inclusion initiatives in your school, community, and/or workplace? Please be sure to include your leadership roles in furthering a more diverse and inclusive environment.
Pictures/ Videos showing your leadership in action (optional), Color headshot, Academic resume, transcript, educator recommendation.
Award: Five (5) $2,000 awards
