CIVILITY ESSAY CONTEST sponsored by The Honors College at Westminster

Criteria: All current Utah high school students.

Topic - In January 2021, Utah will have its first new governor in 12 years. If you were able to meet for an hour right before they started the job to discuss what you feel is the most important issue facing the state, what advice would you give the new governor and why? (600 words or less)

Amount: $500 - $2,000 cash award - Students do not need to attend Westminster College to receive award.

AMERICANISM ESSAY CONTEST

Criteria: Grades 7-12. 350-word essay about “The Bill of Rights and me” through a local FRA branch (Ogden in UT).

Amount: $1,000-$5,000

DELL SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: Seniors. Participate in a program-approved readiness program (GearUp/ AVID etc). Pell eligible. 2.4 GPA or higher, be on track from high school.

REGENTS SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: Seniors who have taken the required classes in grades 9-12, have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 and have filled out the FAFSA. No ACT requirement this year.

Priority Deadline: Opens November 16, 2020. Priority deadline December 4, 2020. Final deadline February 1, 2021.

HISPANIC HERITAGE YOUTH AWARDS

Criteria: High school senior of Hispanic heritage. GPA of 3.0 or higher. Permanent Resident, DACA, U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen

THE SCIENCE AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP

Criteria: Female High school senior.

Film a three–minute video of yourself explaining a STEM topic.

EQUITABLE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP (formerly AXA Achievement Scholarship)

Criteria: High school seniors who demonstrate ambition and self-drive by outstanding achievement in an activity in school, community or workplace.

Amount:$2500 - $25000(plus $1,000 for teacher)

Deadline: Deadline December 15, 2020, but only the first 10,000 applications will be accepted. Apply as early as possible!

Criteria: 9th-12th grade
