Graduating Senior Scholarships
Each year, the West High Alumni Association aims to help graduating West High seniors pursue their higher education goals.
The number of scholarships awarded each year varies, but are awarded to deserving West High seniors who are committed to pursuing a college education and demonstrate financial need.
Applications for incoming college freshmen for the 2022-2023 academic year (West High Class of 2022) are now open.

EY College MAP is a multi-year, group mentoring program focused on enabling and empowering students from underserved backgrounds so that they can gain access to college and succeed in higher education.
Team-mentoring by EY professionals, Monthly meetings, approximately 2 hours each at West High School

Private scholarship details vary. Please check websites for complete details, latest updates, deadlines and other requirements. If letters of recommendation are required please ask recommenders early, giving them enough time to write your letter.
When you receive any scholarship offers, even if you choose to not accept them, please report them to me. We need to keep an accurate report of all scholarships and awards for each year. This includes all athletic, leadership, service, diversity, academic, private, and college scholarships. Your effort is much appreciated as self-reporting is often our only means of discovery.

SLCC SCHOLARSHIPS
Criteria: High School Senior. Incoming freshman at SLCC. Must be admitted to SLCC. Multiple scholarships.

Criteria: High school seniors. Incoming freshmen at the U of U. Must be admitted to the U. Multiple scholarships available – for incoming freshmen, department scholarships, etc.

Rose Park Good Samaritan Foundation Scholarship
To assist Hispanic/Latino college students obtain certificates and college degrees.
Eligibility:
Live in Salt Lake County, Utah in or around the West side of Salt Lake City (Rose Park, Glendale, FairPark, WestPointe, Poplar Grove, Downtown, etc.)
Accepted and/or attending a Utah college, university & pursuing an undergraduate degree
Demonstrate strong academic performance through GPA, test scores or other academic indicators
Must be able to volunteer with Rose Park Neighborhood Center 10-15 hours per semester
Open to citizens, residents, documented and undocumented students (with or without DACA).
Transcript and short bio: less than 250 words required.
Deadline: Ongoing - Apply sooner rather than later.

ANTHEM AND FOUNTAINHEAD ESSAY CONTEST
Criteria: 8th – 12th grade. Essay contest based on the book Anthem and fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Prompts on website.
Amount: Up to $2,000.00

AMERICA FIRST CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: America First Credit Union member with account in good standing. US Citizen. Graduating high school senior. Community service, leadership, academic potential.
Amount: $1,000

THINK FOR YOURSELF COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY CONTEST
Criteria: Open to U.S. high school students. The contest asks students to consider the value of free speech, curiosity, and an open mind in their everyday lives.
Deadline: 30 April 2022
Amount: $1,000 – 5,000

THE PROCHNOW FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: High-performing students with diagnosed mental illnesses. Minimum GPA 3.5, graduation class of 2021. 250-500 word essay required.

AMERICAN LEGION UTAH BOYS STATE
Criteria: Junior Boys.
A weeklong immersion to learn how Utah government works, earn University credits and scholarships from Weber State University.

GREAT MINDS IN STEM SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: High School Hispanic Seniors in STEM. Demonstrate leadership through academic achievements and campus/community activities; STEM related majors. 3.0 GPA.

Amount: $500 - $10000
NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: Senior who has Multiple Sclerosis or a parent with MS.

PMI UTAH NORTHERN CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: Utah High School Juniors and Seniors. Create a 5 minute YouTube video about any project you have been involved with. Completed application and transcript also required.
Amount: $500 - $2000

BRYAN CAMERON EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA: Junior planning to attend a four-year college/university, U.S. Citizen, 3.7 GPA, must excel in a broad variety of extracurricular activities. Active participation in community service, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript required. Merit based scholarship.
AMOUNT: 4-year full tuition
DEADLINE: Early deadline - May 20, 2022. Final deadline - Fall 2022. We limit the number of Applications we will accept to 3,000. If and when we reach this limit, we will shut down the Application, regardless of deadlines.

GENEVA ROCK
Criteria: High School Seniors. Must be enrolled in a postsecondary program that leads to a construction-related career. Citizenship and/or residency restrictions apply.
